Eriko Glass x Jackie's Glass Collab: Gum Wall Ducks

These are ducks made in collaboration with Eriko Kobayashi (@eriko_glass on Instagram).

Eriko was born in Tokyo, Japan and started working with glass a decade ago. She studied glasswork at Toyama City Institute of Glass Art in Japan and later got her MFA in Glass at Southern Illinois University. Eriko introduces playfulness to technically demanding glass structures in ways that are fun, positive, and enjoyable (like in her photorealistic pizza and pastry glass art!). She utilizes forms we encounter in our everyday lives to engage her viewer with the familiar, but also to challenge them to question and rethink these objects. She hasn’t made smaller gum walls yet, so this is a great opportunity to get a desk-size piece : )

Eriko made the gum pieces (by "chewing" hot glass with metal-casted teeth!) and I made the lattice and duckie holding a piece of gum.
